Director of Research

The PC Caucus Office has an immediate need for a Full Time Director of Research.

The Director of Research (DIRECTOR) supports legislative committees by overseeing the PC Caucus Office (PCCO) research team and provides leadership and coordination for all research requirements related to the Caucus Office.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Monitor, prepare and provide support for relevant Standing Committee meetings.
- Develops a research agenda aligned with the mandate of each Standing Committee.
- Oversees all research related components and outcomes of the PCCO
- Provides supervision, mentorship, and training to research staff in the areas of research, briefing documents, and committee preparation.
- Collaborates with MLA Support Staff in the production of research material.
- Serve as a liaison for all research needs for the PC Caucus Team.
- Advise ED of emerging issues to support strategic decision-making processes.
- Identify opportunities for in committees that could advance PCCO political objectives.
- Supports the requests of MLA’s as it relates to the PCCO’s agenda.
- Participate as needed in various provincial initiatives and events, as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned and needed.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- A university degree with a research focus and previous experience in a political environment.
- Ability to work under tight timelines/deadlines and changes in priorities independently and as part of a team
- Must have exemplary writing skills with the ability to distill large amounts of material into plain language
- Minimum of 1 year of research experience
- Familiarity with Google Workspace (Gmail, google drive, etc.)
