Postdoctoral Fellow in District Energy Systems

and part-time staff across four campuses making it one of the largest employers in the province of Alberta.

The research is focused on modelling and simulation of low-temperature district heating and cooling networks and their integration with heat pump and energy source models. Optimization of district energy networks as well as examination of various source and network configurations will be performed.

If successful, you will join a small group of researchers led by Dr. Koohi in the area of energy systems for buildings. You will have the opportunity to supervise PhD and master students closely as they focus of various aspects of this project.

You will also have an opportunity to develop and initiate new research activities in relevant areas. In addition, the you will have an opportunity to teach relevant courses in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alberta based on your background and academic strengths.

**Requirements**:
You must have a MSc or MEng (or equivalent) and a PhD degree.

Your academic degrees must be in Mechanical or Energy Engineering.

You must have at least three publications in the area of thermal sciences or energy systems.

You must have some experience working in the area of energy systems for heating and cooling of buildings.

**Preferred Qualifications**

It is preferred that you have some experience in modelling and simulation techniques using numerical techniques and specialized energy modelling software (TRNSYS or Modelica).

It is preferred that you have some experience working with district energy systems.
