**Description**:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Student Support Leader to join our team at the Hamilton Campus (located in Dundas). This role is pivotal in shaping the educational experience for students with varying needs across multiple schools and virtual platforms.
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assess the needs of assigned students through both formal and informal assessments.
- Review student referrals, histories, and assessment data to develop suitable goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with teachers to address students' educational, social, emotional, and physical needs and set objectives.
- Plan, develop, and implement individualized learning plans (IEPs) for each student.
- Create instructional materials and lesson plans in accordance with IEPs.
- Meet with parents, teachers, and the principal to review IEPs.
- Monitor, assess, and document student progress using appropriate measurements.
- Prepare and submit timely progress reports for each student.
- Design and implement interventions and strategies to encourage student achievement.
- Consult with school staff to ensure effective IEP implementation and provision of special education services.
- Adapt general education programs and curriculum to meet the needs of students.
- Maintain consistent communication with parents to keep them informed of their child’s progress.
- Support parents in understanding educational goals, expectations, and behavioral standards.
- Manage student behavior through observation, supervision, and assessment of behavioral patterns.
- Implement corrective methods for behavior management and planning.
- Teach students social behaviors and personal development skills.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date record-keeping in compliance with school district regulations and legal requirements.

**Skills & Experience**:

- Experience working with students with exceptionalities (special needs).
- Proven ability to manage classroom behavior effectively.
- Knowledge of current special education practices and methodologies.
- Experience in creating and implementing IEPs and other support plans (e.g., behavior, safety).
- Strong organizational and planning abilities.
- Excellent collaboration, teamwork, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
- Creative problem-solving skills.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Education.
- Valid Ontario College of Teachers certification.
- Special Education certification and/or diploma.
- Specialization and/or extensive experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (highly preferred)
- Strong understanding of the IEP process and documentation
- Experience in alternative curriculum development
- Experience teaching using virtual platforms
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
