Brazeau County is looking for temporary **Sprayer Operators** to join our team for the summer months. This position offers four months of employment from May to August, with a great work life balance of evenings and weekends off, including statutory holidays. Our summer staff work forty hours per week, receive job and safety training, and are provided personal protective equipment.
If you enjoy being outside, are responsible to work with mínimal supervision, comfortable using light equipment, and have a valid driver’s license, this may be a great fit for you. Perhaps you are currently attending post-secondary, or are semi-retired and seeking summer work.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Safely operate and maintain equipment, including trucks, trailers, spray equipment, and tools
- Provide assistance with maintenance tasks for Agricultural Services
- Record keeping
- To undertake any other reasonable duty, commensurate with the classification and responsibility of the position, across the department in order to meet service priorities and business continuity requirements.
- May be required in the event of a municipal emergency to support the emergency operations centre and incident action/recovery plan.
**COMPETENCY AREAS**:**Education/Training**:
- Currently pursuing post-secondary education is considered an asset.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
**Licenses/Certifications/Designation**:
- A valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required.
- A clean Driver’s Abstract is required.
**Experiences/Knowledge/Skills**:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to perform physical labour
- Must be able to work independently
- Familiarity in agriculture and experience with operating light equipment is an asset
- Computer software experience using GIS/GPS, Office 365, and web-based reporting programs is required.
- Must have effective communication skills and ability to interact with many different individuals in a professional manner
**Classification**Compensation and Classification**:
- Temporary (Maximum Five Months Duration)
- Work Period from May to August
- Forty Hours Per Week; Monday to Friday
- Union Grid 1: $22.70 to $26.50
- Non-supervisory
