As Finance Manager at InterTalk, your **core responsibility includes overseeing the financial health of the organization, managing financial processes and providing strategic financial guidance**. From meticulously navigating budgeting intricacies, to forecasting with precision, to steering financial processes and strategies - your impact will extend positively across the organization.

Playing a pivotal role as a key advisor sharing information steering the financial performance of the company, you will report directly to the President. Your leadership will extend to managing our dedicated and talented Finance Team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

This position is primarily an **on-site opportunity** **based out of our office in** **Dartmouth, Nova Scotia**, with some **flexibility** for working hybrid.

In addition, InterTalk's equipment is used by railroads, airports and electrical utility companies to ensure the safety of their employees and to handle day-to-day operations, logistics, planning and emergency situations.

Under the direction of the President, the **Finance Manager** will be responsible for the following:

- Leading the coordination, execution, control and completion of objectives within our Finance team
- Providing management and leadership to Finance team members in the execution of responsibilities
- Collaborating with senior management to support strategic planning and financial health of company, providing strategic financial, business and tax advice and insights driving informed financial decisions
- Developing, coordinating and maintaining corporate financial plans, budgets, forecasts and long term financial planning
- Proactively preparing and presenting regular reports for senior management including financial statements, summaries, forecasts, cost-benefit analyses, etc.
- Preparing and managing annual budgets and process in collaboration with department heads, forecasting future financial needs, and providing reporting
- Overseeing cash flow, implementing effective cash management procedures, monitor liquidity and manage working capital
- Anticipating potential risks and financial challenges, developing mitigation plans to ensure smooth execution and continuous operation
- Maintaining financial records including the maintenance of the InterTalk chart of accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
- Completing period closings, which may include the posting of journal entries, reconciling accounts, maintaining general ledgers and prepare trial balances and financial statements
- Completing day to day financial processing, including approvals and payments for cheque runs
- Processing US and Canadian payrolls including all applicable remittances such as government tax and workers’ compensation
- Updating, developing and implementing financial policies, systems and procedures for the Company and communicating to facilitate understanding and awareness
- Collaborating with Production Team on inventory management control
- Managing financial audits and coordinating with external auditors
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, including corporate registrations, reporting requirements, US and Canadian tax compliance and managing tax remittances and returns
- Continuously assess and drive continuous improvement through documented initiatives within the financial processes
- Collaborating with People & Culture Team, supporting joint initiatives, such as: employee life-cycle, internal communication strategies, talent development, engagement programs, inclusivity, productivity
- Promoting a culture of trust, collaboration, communication and continuous improvement fostering a high-performing and collaborative work environment across the company

**REQUIRED SKILLS**
- Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards and financial regulations
- Experience with provincial/state/federal Canadian/US tax compliance and remittances
- Advanced knowledge and skills within Excel
