**Job Summary**

Please note that this is a term position, beginning on Monday February 10th and continuing for a 4-6 week period. This position is open due to a staff illness and therefore may remain open for a period longer than six weeks.

**Sterilization clerk**:

- Remove used instruments from treatment room and prepare, process and store them according to Nova Scotia IPAC standards.
- Laundering soiled personal protective equipment

**Level 1 chair side assistant**:

- Seat patient
- Make notes in patients' medical charts
- Set-up and tear-down treatment room
- Assist in passing instruments and maintaining a dry treatment field
- Processing instruments according to Nova Scotia IPAC standards
- Laundering soiled personal protective equipment
- Helping to maintain organized stock of supplies
- Other responsibilities include those that would be the regular responsibility of a level 1 chair side assistant.

**Skills**
- Strong understanding of **Pediatrics**, **Dental assisting**, **Orthodontics**, and related fields is preferred.
- Proficiency in AbelDent software systems is advantageous.
- Familiarity with **medical terminology** relevant to dental practices.
- Previous experience in a dental setting or in similar healthcare roles is beneficial.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

This role is essential for driving the mission of the organization forward while ensuring excellent patient care.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 4-6 weeks

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 36 per week
