We are currently looking for a Supervisor of Housekeeping to join our team of committed professionals. This full-time position within the association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’s Chippewa location in North Bay.
Under the leadership of the Centre Manager the Supervisor of Housekeeping coordinates the cleaning program to ensure a safe, functional, clean, and comfortable environment suitable for the delivery of YMCA and partner programming. This role includes supervising a team of housekeeping staff, planning and executing cleaning protocols, and ensuring the facility is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and hygiene. This role ensures compliance with workplace health & safety standards.
**START DATE**: April 1, 2025
**LOCATION**: North Bay, ON
**RATE OF PAY**:  $44,400 - $57,600 per year
**HOURS**: 40 per week
Major Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain cleaning protocols for all areas, including fitness equipment, locker rooms, common spaces, and offices.
- Ensure proper use of cleaning supplies and equipment according to YMCA policies and workplace health & safety standards.
- Support aquatics and facility teams with pool contaminations and maintaining safe chemical levels.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to ensure cleanliness and address any concerns promptly.
- Address member feedback related to facility cleanliness and resolve concerns in a professional manner.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure cleaning schedules align with facility usage and events.
- Comply with the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) program. Have a full understanding of the three inter-related components of the WHMIS program - training, labeling, and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise housekeeping staff.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in hospitality or facility management is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in housekeeping or custodial roles, with at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR C
- WHMIS Certification
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and safety practices.
- Proficient in scheduling and team management.
- Bilingualism in both official languages an asset
- Current and satisfactory Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
