Operations Manager

We’re looking for an experienced operations manager to join us for one of Canada’s most thrilling haunted attractions. With plans to scale to multiple locations, this position offers not only seasonal work but also long-term growth opportunities.

**Position**: Seasonal Operations Manager
**Compensation**: $25,000 - $40,000 (mid-August to end of October)
**Compensation for 2024**: $14,000 - $20,000 (adjusted for this year’s shortened season)
**Location**: Maan Farms, Abbotsford, BC
**Availability**: Some daytime availability and with night availability required only for select nights from the end of September through October
**Physical Requirements**: Must be physically fit for a high-energy, fast-paced environment
**Seasonal Role**: This position is seasonal, but we’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us for at least 5-6 seasons, as we expand to multiple locations.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Event Management**: Oversee and manage all aspects of event logistics and operations during the haunted attraction season, ensuring seamless execution of events.
- **Uphold Policies and Culture**: Implement organizational policies, rules, and code of ethics, ensuring effective communication and a positive culture.
- **Team Management**: Oversee the community of actors and staff, ensuring they follow company values. Create an environment that encourages personal growth and teamwork.
- **Innovate for Efficiency**: Identify ways to streamline labor and improve guest/actor experiences while reducing costs.
- **Staff Hiring and Training**: Assist in hiring and training staff, ensuring all positions are filled and helping staff grow within the organization.
- **Shadow Current Manager**: In 2024, you will shadow the current operations manager to learn the full scope of responsibilities and ensure a smooth transition.
- **HR and Employee Relations**: Handle HR responsibilities, complaints, and ensure compliance with labor laws. Act as the main point of contact for staff concerns.
- **Emergency Response Management**: Coordinate with police, fire, and medical response teams in case of emergencies.
- **Operational Oversight**: Oversee nightly operations during select nights in September and October, ensuring smooth execution.
- **Crisis Management**: Stay calm in high-stress situations, managing real-time issues and solving problems.
- **Financial Management**: Ensure labor cost efficiency and budget adherence.
- **Availability**: Some availability required for daytime meetings, training, and planning, with night availability needed for select nights from late September through October.

**Qualifications**:

- **Event or Operations Management Experience**: At least 3 years of experience in managing large teams, preferably in events, entertainment, or hospitality.
- **Leadership**: Ability to manage and inspire large teams, fostering a positive culture.
- **Crisis Management**: Experience handling high-pressure situations.
- **Problem Solving**: Ability to think quickly and make decisions under stress.
- **Communication Skills**: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- **HR Experience**: Familiarity with HR policies and labor law compliance.
- **Physical Fitness**: Must be able to physically handle the demands of the job.
- **Seasonal Flexibility**: Some daytime availability, with select nights required through SeptOctober.
- **Long-Term Commitment**: We seek someone interested in growing with us for at least 5-6 seasons as we scale to multiple locations.

Pay: $10,000.00-$16,000.00 per month
