**Linux System Administrator**

As a Linux Sysadmin you are responsible for ensuring that our infrastructure and supporting systems are designed, implemented, and operated in a high-performing, scalable manner. Having critical thinking and respecting the delivery life-cycle is critical to the role, as is the desire to define and implement infrastructure as code (IaC).

Industry experience is important, but so are your demonstrated skills and attitudes. You will be mentoring team members in conjunction with the department leader, so the desire to share knowledge, mentor and demonstrate humility are keys to success in this position.

**What You'll Do**
- Be responsible for maintaining and scaling production services (LAMP stack/VOIP solution) and servers/services for complex and high throughput
- Improve scalability, service reliability, capacity, and performance
- Write automation code for provisioning and operating infrastructure at scale
- Participate in on-call rotation, being responsible for uptime and support
- Troubleshoot incidents, formulate and test your hypotheses, and narrow down possibilities to find the root cause
- Educate, coach and mentor team members toward automation paradigms and provide SME level support
- Understanding of scalability patterns applied to infrastructure architecture for high traffic systems
- Good understanding of networking and infrastructure setup in hybrid environments
- Strong understanding of best practices for the life-cycle of provisioning servers/services on automation fashion way

**Qualifications / Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- Experience administering LAMP-based systems on a high production scale
- Ability to design and debug scripting (primarily bash based) to automate repetitive and/or complex tasks such as server provisioning, enacting system-wide changes over a large number of servers across multiple data centres and so forth
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (eg. Terraform)
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g. Puppet/Foreman, Ansible(AWX))
- Experience with LAMP stack deployments using configuration management tools
- Experience with Continuous Integration concepts and tools
- Experience delivering highly available and reliable systems
- Experience mentoring others
- Solid working background in Linux, provisioning and patching over automation matters are mandatory.
- Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket
- Understand ITIL practices and change management lifecycles
- Be proficient in developing processes for the infrastructure, and streamlining operational tasks using tools such as Puppet/Foreman, Ansible, Terraform.
- Be able to write and implement provisioning using Terraform/Packer/Ansible/Puppet for VPC
- Experience working as DevOps or Systems Administrator working with Linux environments for several years
- Understanding of scalability patterns applied to infrastructure architecture for high traffic systems
