**POSITION OVERVIEW**

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Receives all incoming claims and claims inquiries from insureds, Account Managers, and insurers in a collaborative and professional manner while providing clear direction on PWA’s claim processes and procedures.
- Review and interpret available coverage, recognizing policy types, exclusions, and applicable policy triggers.
- Collaborate with Insured and AM to determine optimal strategy and action for each claim.
- Determine and obtain the type of required documentation necessary to report claims in accordance with the insurance policy.
- File claim with insured as required, and follow up to ensure claim received, adjuster appointed, claim was actioned and the client was contacted.
- Conducts thorough follow up and client advocacy of claims through contact with insureds, insurance companies, independent adjusters, contractors, lawyers, etc.
- Maintain strong functional relationships with adjusters to expedite claims and provide strong advocacy for insureds.
- Utilize EPIC system to file claims information, set follow ups, and produce loss reports as required.
- Meets with all key clients to review and discuss claims procedures and open files.
- Meets with insurers/adjusters for policy reviews and coverage disputes.
- Reviews client contracts, lease agreements, hold harmless, and indemnification clauses as part of the claims process.
- Participates in case management on litigation matters for clients with large retentions (this would include pre-trials, mediations, and settlement meetings).
- Update AM’s and management team on status of claims, contentious issues, and progress.
- Participates in the investigation and settlement of any PWA E&O Claims.
- Implements best practices for ongoing improvement of claims process and positive client experience.
- Attends claims related and other continuing education seminars to remain abreast of changes in the insurance industry.
- Is a member of the PWA process enhancement team.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- 7+ years of commercial claims experience with min 3 years managing large/complex losses.
- Construction claims experience preferred.
- Advanced understanding of insurance contracts.
- CIP or CRM designations an asset. - RIBO Licensed (or willingness to obtain RIBO).
- Proficient in EPIC, MS Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Strong knowledge of insurance trends, laws, and regulations.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, investigative, and decision-making skills.
- High level of organization and excellent attention to detail.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to prioritize tasks and handle multiple files simultaneously.
- Ability to manage frequent interruptions, emergencies, and emotional Insureds.
- Able to respond to clients outside of regular working hours on an emergency basis.
- Must be able to travel for work. A valid Driver’s License is required.
