**STEEL STUD, DRYWALL, FINISHING FOREMAN & ASSISTANT FOREMAN POSITION**
Bhandal Contractors is looking for a Steel Stud, Drywall & Finishing Foreman and Assistant Foreman to join our team. We want someone that can preplan, organize, track and audit day to day field operations of workers in commercial/residential drywall systems.
Our company is recognized for offering unsurpassed construction quality, as well as attention to detail, this is the foundation of our company and what we expect from our employees and partners.
- Location: Lower Mainland.
- Type of employment: Full-Time, Permanent.
- Biweekly payment by cheque method.
**WHAT YOU’LL DO**
As a Foreman you will:
- Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of construction workers to complete the project on schedule.
- Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with subcontractors.
- Train workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies.
- Resolve problems and recommend measures to improve productivity, product quality and maintaining best practises.
- Prepare work progress reports. Timesheets and description of work completed for invoicing, extras, etc.
- Generate biweekly subtrade invoices using our subtrade invoice template.
- Order material, equipment and supplies through our head office.
- Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following procedures the company has implemented.
- Quality control, material management and people management skills required and willingness to learn.
- Weekly tool box meetings.
- Attend on site meetings i.e. trade meetings, safety meetings etc.
- Ensure the inventory and maintenance of the necessary equipment and tools, inspect materials that have been delivered and sign the delivery slips. This also applies to pick up orders for materials, scaffolding etc.
- Work safely and take action to correct and prevent potential hazards.
- Help the company source/find new workers & subtrades and give feedback on current workers and how to make improvements on site.
Qualifications required:
- More than 2.5 years of experience in construction.
- Knowledge of site documentation and management.
- Ability or willingness to learn to construction building plans and review.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Effectiveness in communicating information relating to the progress of ongoing projects.
- Effectiveness in the management of the execution of the works and the control of the supply.
- Compliance with deadlines and ability to deal with deadline requests.
- Effectiveness in managing time and priorities.
- Compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
- Strong work ethic with ability to multitask and focus.
- Reliable and accepting of responsibilities.
- Excellent organizational skills - sequencing and organizing tasks, schedules, etc.
- Perform all other related tasks to this role.
- Valid driver’s licence & vehicle.
- Full-Time work permit.
Tools & Software:
- WhatsApp skills: ability to text and submit paperwork or any site specific information through WhatsApp.
- Basic knowledge of Dropbox. (Ability and willingness to learn)
- Ability to read PDF documentation. (Ability and willingness to learn)
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $22.13-$32.48 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
Work Location: On the road
