**Structured Cabling Technician and Security Technician**

**Description**

**Responsibilities**
- Install and terminate structured cabling systems including copper and fiber-optic cables to industry standards (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, 18/2 etc.)
- Ability to install cable, terminate jack modules and install face plates
- Attention to detail and understanding of how to dress cabling
- Working with Networks test equipment to understanding results and troubleshoot
- Ability to read blue prints/As-Builts and Conduct site assessments to determine cabling requirements and infrastructure.
- Physically fit and capable to work in a commercial and multi-family construction environments
- Ability to communicate and document site details and Maintain accurate documentation of installations, tools, and equipment used
- Ensure compliance with local building codes and safety regulations during installations.
- Comfortable working within a detailed orientated position
- Ability to work at heights
- Must have valid drivers license and clean security check
- Attention to detail and the ability to take direction and willingness to learn new skills
- Experience in telephony, security and audio visual is an asset
- Certifications in industry products is an asset

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in structured cabling installation and maintenance practices.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as TIA/EIA and BICSI.
- Familiarity with testing equipment, including cable testers and certifiers.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment and strong individual work ethic
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work at height

Pay: $23.50-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 44 per week

- Secondary School (required)

**Experience**:

- Wiring: 2 years (preferred)
- Heavy lifting: 1 year (preferred)
- Telephony: 1 year (preferred)
- Data cabling: 3 years (preferred)
