Part-time Summer Child Care Worker

**Responsibilities**
- Assisting our Early Childhood Educators in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities and experiences in alignment with our philosophies and values
- Assisting our Early Childhood Educators in individualizing the curriculum for every child's needs and skill levels
- Assisting the Early Childhood Educators in ensuring guidance of children's behaviour which encourages positive self-concept
- Assisting the Early Childhood Educators in providing positive guiding techniques such as redirection, positive language, and positive reinforcement
- Assisting the Early Childhood Educators in ensuring the environment is healthy, safe, and nurturing
- Working collaboratively as a member of the Mahmowenchike team

**Requirements**:

- Diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalent education and experience are strongly encouraged
- Membership in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Standard First Aid and CPR level C (with infant and child CPR) certification
- Current, clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
- Up-to-date immunization record
- Knowledge of the Ojibwe language and Indigenous traditions, teachings, and culture are preferred assets
- Ability to work well individually as well as on a team
- High level of attention to confidentiality
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and high energy level
- Ability to effectively interact and relate to children in a developmentally appropriate manner

We are seeking one individual to join our St. Vincent site’s team for the summer in a part-time capacity. This is a hands-on, in-the-action kind of role — 5.5 hour days with a shift from 12:00 PM to 5:30 PM daily with a 30-minute break to recharge, refuel, and get ready for the second half of your shift.

Please note that the hourly wage starts at $18.00 hourly for unqualified educators and $20.50 for qualified educators for this role. Base wage listed does not include additional government-funded wage enhancement grants, which may increase overall compensation.
