The CRT is an independent, quasi-judicial tribunal that operates under the authority of the Civil Resolution Tribunal Act. The CRT is Canada’s first online tribunal and currently provides end-to-end dispute resolution services in strata property disputes and small claims up to $5,000. The CRT also has jurisdiction to resolve motor vehicle personal injury disputes and some disputes involving incorporated societies and cooperative associations, as well as claims involving non-consensual distribution of intimate images **The Role** As a summer student with the Civil Resolution Tribunal (CRT), you will gain practical experience in administrative law by supporting legal research, policy development, and tribunal processes. Your work may involve analyzing legislation, assisting counsel in judicial reviews, and developing plain language resources to improve access to justice. The CRT is committed to equity, diversity, inclusion, and reconciliation with Indigenous peoples, and students may have opportunities to contribute to initiatives that enhance accessibility and fairness in the tribunal’s processes. **Qualifications**: Education and Experience Requirements - Self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations - status or non-status, Métis, or Inuit), and Proviso/willingness statements: - Be willing to live in BC for the duration of this position. **About this Position**: There is 1 (one) temporary position available from May 2025 to August 2025. This is a summer position for law students who are currently pursuing a Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree. This position does not fulfill articling requirements for being called to the bar of British Columbia. A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
