The Museum of Health Care at Kingston is Canada’s premier resource devoted to bringing to life the story of health and health care. As a history of medicine museum, the Museum of Health Care strives to connect visitors with the experiences of people in past times and provide context and perspective on today’s health issues. To help Canadians better understand this history, the Museum preserves and promotes the rich material legacy of our medical and healthcare past.

**COVID-19 Protocols**: As the Museum resides on KHSC grounds, KHSC policies, including full vaccination requirements and masking at all times while on the premises, are in place. The Museum maintains an extensive Health and Safety plan for in-office protocol, and all staff receive health & safety training as well as COVID-19 protocol training.

**Digital Content & Marketing Assistant**

SALARY: $15.75/hr
START / END DATES: May 15 - September 1
WORK HOURS: 7hrs per day, 5 days per week (35hrs/week). May 15 to 29, Monday to Friday. May 29 to September 1, Wednesday to Sunday.

The Digital Content & Marketing Assistant will use their demonstrated video production, graphic design, and social media management skills to produce and share high-quality digital content intended for the general public. In tandem, the position will play an important role of raising awareness of, and subsequently attracting more visitors to, the Museum’s programming and curatorial efforts.
- Editing video, audio, and image files to produce a variety of content for the Museum’s website and social media channels;
- Scheduling social media content and communication efforts
- Helping to create marketing campaigns for Museum support generation and historical awareness
- Producing promotional videos to support the Museum’s marketing and advancement efforts;
- Developing and executing social media campaigns to boost awareness of Museum;
- Taking photographs at events for promotional use and organizational documenting;
- Creating materials used to upgrade and increase access to a Virtual Museum Tour
- Creating multi-media content to enhance the Museum’s educational programming;
- Analyzing website and social media traffic data in order to modify offerings for increased engagement;
- Researching and writing of a blog post for the Museum’s Blog
- Providing back-up support to frontline visitor services as needed.

Required Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills in written and oral English.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Initiative driven and creative
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Experience with social media content creation
- Introductory graphic design

Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of French or other second language.
- Knowledge and/or experience of Indigenous history
- General knowledge of health care history and/or social history of Canada.
- Graphic design experience.
- Experience in online data analysis relating to increasing viewership, visibility and ease of use
- Experience in web design and maintenance
- Technical knowledge of photography/filmmaking
- Experience with audio and video recording, editing and publishing.
- Experience in and/or knowledge of event planning and marketing.
- Interest in a career in history, history of medicine, museology, marketing, film/tv, content creation, promotion, statistics, tourism or other related disciplines.

**Young Canada Works Eligibility**
- are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada (non-Canadians holding temporary work visas or awaiting permanent status are not eligible);
- are legally entitled to work in Canada;
- are between 16 and 30 years of age at the start of employment;
- are willing to commit to the full duration of the work assignment;
- will not have another full-time job (over 30 hours a week) during the Young Canada Works (YCW) work assignment;
- have been a full-time high school, college, CEGEP or university student (as defined by their educational institution) in the semester preceding the YCW work assignment; and
- intend to return to full-time studies in the semester following the YCW work assignment.
- **Note**: Priority will be given to students who have not previously participated in the YCWHO employment program.
