**Annual Salary: $121,929 - $152,433**

Reporting to the Vice President, People & Mission, the Director is accountable for ensuring the effective operation of the environmental & food services functions for all sites operated by St. Joseph's Care Group. The Director uses a collaborative team approach, inclusive of client and family partners, to plan for and lead the provision of healthy and optimal services for our clients and residents. The Director will lead a culture of both quality assurance and quality improvement within environmental and food services.

**Qualifications**:
**Education/Experience**:

- Post-secondary education in a related field
- Successful completion of an accredited program in either Environmental Services or Food Service Management
- Minimum five years of related progressive management experience in a unionized setting
- Experience managing large scale complex projects involving both internal and external stakeholders
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations (i.e. Fixing Long-Term Care Act)

**Skills/Abilities**:

- Superior ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing, and to deliver presentations to a variety of audiences
- Superior ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with members of the SJCG management team, and other internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to think and act strategically in a health care environment, including the ability to conceptualize and implement change strategies
- Excellent project/time management, analytical/critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Proven acumen in business and financial management, with the ability to improve effectiveness and efficiency through the management and utilization of human, financial, and physical resources
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to lead, motivate, evaluate, and recognize staff; proven ability to share skills and knowledge with others
- Ability to engage others to build consensus and create solutions
- Proficiency with leveraging computer software to analyze data and develop compelling reports and presentations for target audiences
- Competent within the meaning of the Occupational Health & Safety Act

**Assets**:

- Completion of the Environmental Services Leadership Program
- Membership in Canadian Society of Nutrition Management or Registered Dietitian

**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**
- Ability to travel to various work locations as required and provide own transportation
- This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
