Project Manager/scrum Master

**What role will you play?**:
Reporting to the Business Solution Delivery (“BSD”) IT Partner, the Scrum Master helps ensure agile ceremonies are followed and provide the coaching needed to support not only the core team, but the surrounding teams with the insights and awareness they need to effectively engage with the Agile team. This individual keeps the team moving smoothly while trying new ways to increase velocity and team productivity. The Scrum Master looks ahead to identify risks, dependencies, and impediments, leading the team and business in finding a solution, actively escalating when needed to ensure resolution. He/she keeps a pulse on needs and insights from stakeholders and other initiatives, regularly communicating status, changes in direction, and relevant metrics to avoid misalignment and roadblocks. The Scrum Master will also be responsible to fulfill aspects of project management and human resource management activities.

**What you'll be responsible for**:

- Facilitate agile ceremonies/meetings and support the team’s needs in order to maximize productivity
- Establish the team and communicate roles and responsibilities
- Set up and facilitate iteration planning, daily scrum or stand-ups, demo, and retrospective meetings
- Enforce scrum values, principles, and practices and ensure development team is adhering to agile principles and practices
- Create a baseline of cost and schedule according to the initial story backlog
- Monitor the flow of work and keep track of performance on a daily basis
- Integrate and manage the definition of Done
- Partner with the BSD IT Partner, BSD Lead and Product Owner to understand the impact of scope change on cost/schedule estimates
- Facilitate team estimates and improving throughput
- Ensure the team is fully functional and productive
- Responsible of the creation of release plans and burn up/down charts
- Protect the team and remove blockers or impediments that hinder work progress
- Identify and address risks
- Move current sprint tasks forward
- Take ownership of issue resolution
- Shield team from external interferences
- Collaborate with the IT PMO to ensure compliance with project methodology, processes, tools and standards
- Coach team on the Agile methodology and help them improve on the required soft skills
- Key advisor and coach to the BSD leadership team and Product Owner
- Coach team on process
- Promote continuous improvement/experiments
- Motivate and serve the team where needed
- Monitor and help improve team dynamics
- Foster high collaboration and communication among team
- Act as the glue that holds the team together
- Actively participate to the success of the initiative as a team member
- Lend support to whatever part of the initiative needs assistance at a certain time
- Project management activities such as (but not limited to):

- Financial management including forecasting, proposal creation, etc
- Human resource / capacity forecasting
- Onboarding/offboarding of new employees and or contractors
- Projects status tracking and reporting
- Project risk and issue management
- Team leadership responsibilities such as (but not limited to):

- Goal setting
- Appraisals and calibration
- Time and vacation approvals

- Experience of contributing to the success of a range of midsize-to-large initiatives with above-average levels of complexity and business criticality
- Experience as a Scrum Master where scrum principles, practices, and theory were diligently applied
- Experience in Project management
- Application development lifecycle

**Education and certification**:

- Academic : Post-secondary degree or higher in Engineering, Technology or related field (required), degree in Business Administration (MBA) (Asset)
- Certifications : Scrum Master, PMP (nice to have), ITIL foundations (nice to have)
