The Aboriginal Coalition to End Homelessness Society (ACEH) is an Indigenous-led non-profit organization and registered charity, dedicated to supporting Indigenous peoples experiencing homelessness by providing Culturally Supportive Housing and Decolonized Harm Reduction services through its Dual Model of Housing Care approach. Our work centers around the voices of the Indigenous Street Family who share their experiences, immediate needs, and solutions.

Through building partnerships locally and island-wide, the ACEH works to identify and address systemic and structural barriers and share information, resources, and lessons learned while also providing cultural support, connections, and housing stability.

**JOB DETAILS**:
**Position Type**: Monday - Friday. 8-4PM, on call every second week in the evening.

**Salary**: $79,960 ($38.44 per hour)

**Benefits**:Sun Life Coverage; Quarterly Wellness Day (4); an additional Wellness Day per quarter for on
- call responsibilities; and 10 paid Vacation Days.

**Start Date**:Dependent on receiving a “screened-in” letter from MCFD.

**Location**: 2854 Adelaide Avenue, Saanich BC; and other ACEH office sites as required.

**About the Role**:
Reporting to the Director of Housing Operations, the Youth Care Home Manager will lead a team in lovingly providing Culturally Supportive Housing and services at the Youth Care Home to 6 Indigenous Youth (12-19) in the guardianship of Surrounded by Cedar Child & Family Services. The Youth Care Home Manager is responsible for program development, leadership, management, regulatory compliance, and community relationship building in a way that upholds the organization's mission, vision, values, and practices. The Youth House Manager also offers non-judgmental support, advocacy, information, and referrals to Youth Family Members. Building strong community relationships, being a good neighbour, and familiarity with available resources is essential. This position operates in a high-stress environment, often dealing with crises, and requires the ability to function independently and effectively manage various situations, including emergencies.

**Responsibilities**:
**Staff Oversight & House Operations (50%)**
- Assist in hiring, onboarding, and supporting Youth Care Home staff including Care Workers, Elder(s), and an Aunty or Uncle.
- Manage and oversee scheduling to ensure 24/7 coverage and approve timesheets to payroll bi-weekly.
- Hold regular team check-ins toward continual program improvement.
- Lead conflict resolution, de-escalation, and mediation as needed.
- Organize professional development and staff wellness opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with licensing requirements for annual inspections (i.e., site maintenance, record keeping, posting menus, emergency plan etc.)
- Implement and evaluate program planning, objectives, policies, and procedures.
- Regularly conduct emergency preparedness drills.
- Maintain confidentiality, privacy, and record-keeping in accordance with the _Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA)_ and the _Society’s Act_.
- Develop and manage the inventory.
- Lead maintenance plans.
- Lead incident and emergency response.

**Youth Support & Community Relations (40%)**
- Collaborate with Surrounded by Cedar Child & Family Services on intake and case management to maintain a balanced Youth Family Member dynamic.
- Facilitate positive relationships between Youth Family Members and team members.
- Support Care Plan development for Youth Family Members and advocacy toward meeting their personal goals in areas of: health, substance use, income, housing, employment, family reunification, cultural connection, education, life skills, and parenting.
- Familiarize Youth Family Members with house policies and procedures, including care for the property, safety protocols, and expectations for living communally.
- Lead a Family Meeting biweekly to discuss updates, challenges, and upcoming events.
