Our operations base in Edmonton, Alberta, caters to a broad spectrum of sectors, encompassing infrastructure, transportation, oil and gas, and renewable energy projects. We are committed to understanding and mitigating the environmental impacts associated with development and progress. Our team is expanding, and we are seeking an Environmental Specialist with a strong foundation in aquatic biology to join our assessment and permitting team.
**Position Overview**
**Responsibilities**
- Conduct and support aquatic pre-disturbance assessments and field surveys.
- Contribute to the development of ecoplans and the preparation of detailed technical environmental reports.
- Design and implement environmental monitoring programs with a focus on aquatic health.
- Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to create integrated, sustainable project designs.
- Facilitate streamlined communications for project approvals with clients and regulators.
- Utilize comprehensive knowledge of ecological planning to write informed and effective reports.
**Requirements**:
- Educational background in Aquatic Biology, Environmental Science, or a related scientific discipline.
- Experience in aquatic ecologies and pre-disturbance assessments, ideally within the Alberta region.
- Proficient understanding of the various knowledge areas within ecological planning.
- Skilled at drafting comprehensive environmental reports and managing monitoring initiatives.
- Capacity and willingness to undertake fieldwork in varying conditions and settings.
- Strong collaborative skills for working alongside engineering teams, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills to ensure project compliance and approvals.

Pay: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
