**Job Overview**

**Duties**
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards set by the head chef.
- Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, slicing, and marinating ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Ensure proper food handling techniques are followed to prevent cross-contamination.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report shortages to management.
- Help with the setup and breakdown of the kitchen before and after service.
- Participate in training sessions on food safety, cooking techniques, and menu items.

**Qualifications**
- Previous experience in food service or a similar role within the food industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for kitchen operations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Familiarity with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills in meal preparation.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and lift heavy items as needed.

Pay: $20.00-$22.80 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Night shift
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Cooking: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Food Handler Certification (preferred)
- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
