Pipe Layer

Successful applicants will,
- Must have a minimum 3 years construction experience in the utility installation industry.
- Experience and understanding of the technical nature of each project type (water, sewer, storm, and hydro/tel.)
- Ability to install all types of utilities and maintain quality and safety standards.
- Able to understand blueprints to determine location and formation of the pipe.
- Ability to determine grades and proficiently use the associated measuring equipment. (i.e. pipe laser, builders level, theodolite, etc.)
- Must have a valid BC driver’s license.
- Ability to work without close supervision.
- Ability to lead a small group in the absence of a supervisor.
- Must be able to perform heavy manual labor under adverse weather conditions.
- Extensive knowledge of construction materials, tools, and machinery used.
- Must be capable of working in trenches, excavations, and manholes.
- Ability to effectively communicate and lead team members.
- Ability to effectively communicate and problem solve with site supervisors, team members, subcontractors, and the public.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with construction personnel, equipment operators, supervisors, crew and sub
- contractors.
- Required to have valid First Aid Level 1 certification, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Rigging, and Excavation Safety.

Rates range up to **$43.00/hour** (inclusive of vacation pay, H&W, and BC Med, and ETF). Following a probationary period, you will receive RRSPs, and Pension matching opportunities.

**Experience**:

- Underground Utility Pipelaying: 3 years (preferred)
- Civil Construction: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Confined Space Certification (preferred)
- Fall Protection Certification (preferred)
