**Property Compliance Lead**

We are seeking a Property Compliance Lead to uphold and lead standards across our residential building portfolio across Ontario and ensure compliance with all regulations. You will act as a leader in maintaining compliance with building codes, as it relates to the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA), and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), while providing ongoing support to building staff through training and inspections. This role is crucial in fostering a culture of safety, accountability and professionalism amongst employees, residents, and external stakeholders. Travel between buildings in the GTA and Southwest Ontario is required.

**What you will do**:
Training: Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents
- Coordinate orientation and virtual training for building staff, focusing on technical maintenance skills (e.g., plumbing, electrical safety, policies), customer service, and internal software (Suite Spot, Building Stack). Evaluate comprehension through on-the-job observations and use of behavioural checklist.
- Regularly monitor building staff competencies and provide feedback to Management to ensure work quality and compliance with health and safety standards.
- Reinforce adherence to the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA) and health and safety protocols, updating training as needed.
- Review the effectiveness of compliance and safety training programs, make recommendations for improvement.
- Lead implementation of safety protocol updates, arrange refresher courses, and coordinate external training like first aid/CPR.
- Stay up to date with industry standards and best practices

Health and Safety: Residential Buildings
- Conduct building inspections to ensure health, safety, and regulatory compliance, working with staff to address gaps.
- Join the Joint Health and Safety Committee, actively contribute, support, contribute expertise on safety standards and OHSA requirements.
- Analyze incident reports, develop action plans for recurring compliance issues, and drive continuous safety improvements.
- Maintain and update the Emergency Management Plan (EMP), conducting audits, risk assessments, and drills to ensure readiness.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure the EMP covers emergency response, continuity strategies, and effective staff training.

Residential Building Administration:

- Oversee Rent Safe Toronto/Mississauga and Certified Rental Building (CRB) programs, ensuring all certification requirements are met.
- Conduct CRB compliance audits, address areas of non-compliance, and serve as the main point of contact for CRB-related matters.
- Monitor City Orders, ESA Orders, and TSSA Orders, implementing preventative measures for ongoing compliance.
- Manage ad-hoc assignments as required.

**Who You Are**:

- Minimum five (5) years of relevant work experience in building maintenance, preferably multifamily residential
- Certification in Building Maintenance, Facilities Management, or Occupational Health and Safety
- Diploma or certification such as Property Management, Building Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline, considered and asset
- Knowledge of basic building codes, regulations and relevant legislation, including RTA, OHSA regulations
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook) with experience in managing document libraries, folders and permissions in SharePoint.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong sense of professionalism and judgment. Demonstrates effective problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
- A reliable vehicle and a valid Class G driver’s license in good standing
