Live in Rental Building Manager

**Role: Full Time Live In Rental Building Manager**:
- **Location: Downtown Vancouver**, BC**:
- **Building Type: Rental**:
- **Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm (40 hours/week)**:
- **Live In Unit: 1 bedroom renovated unit, _reduced rent provided for the building manager_**:
- **Pet Policy: No pets allowed**
You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the building to ensure an excellent living experience for tenants:
- Regular interactions with tenants and the Property Manager to discuss the building operations, and to address concerns and issues;
- Clean common areas to keep them pristine;
- Inspect common building areas and identify required maintenance, including mechanical, security, garbage/recycling, laundry, landscaping, etc.
- Perform minor building and suite maintenance and repairs, and coordinate contractors / trades to perform more extensive maintenance work and emergency repairs;
- Schedule and supervise tenant move in / move out activities, perform regular suite inspections, maintain records of suite repairs, and ensure vacant suites are ready for new tenants;
- Collect and deposit rents and security deposits.

**Skills Required for a Building Manager**
- You are able to meet the physical demands of the job (Ability to lift 50 pounds, use standard cleaning equipment (vacuum, mop), climb a ladder, etc.);
- You can perform minor repairs and maintenance;
- You like working with people and possess excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written, and the ability to form positive relationships with others;
- An effective communicator, and comfortable corresponding in writing to keep your Property Manager and Support Staff up-to-date with building operations;
- Strong organization, planning and diplomacy skills to prioritize tasks, interact with trades, handle conflict and exercise sound judgement;
- Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call for emergencies;
- Experience with maintaining building and mechanical systems, and basic handyperson skills are strong assets;
- Strong computer skills;
- Experience supervising on-site workers;
- Knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act is an asset;
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a building manager is ideal.
