Oak Hill Therapeutic Foster Care program is seeking **8 dedicated Child and Youth Care Workers (CYCWs)** to join our team in casual relief positions for a **6-month contract** with the possibility of extension. These roles will provide essential support to youth between the ages of 5-17 years who face various trauma-based, behavioural and emotional challenges.

**Positions Available and Schedules**
- **1 CYCW position**: Monday to Friday from **3:00 PM - 11:00 PM**:

- **2 CYCW positions**: Monday to Friday from **11:00 PM - 7:00 AM**:

- **2 CYCW positions**: Wednesday to Sunday from **3:00 PM - 11:00 PM**:

- **2 CYCW positions**: Saturday and Sunday from **12:00 PM - 8:00 PM**:

- **1 CYCW position**: Saturday and Sunday from **11:00 PM - 7:00 AM**

**Hourly Wage**: $22.05 - $25.20

**About Oak Hill Therapeutic Foster Care**

The Oak Hill Therapeutic Foster Care program provides intensive, trauma-informed support to children and youth in foster care, partnering with foster families and child welfare services to create nurturing environments. Our program focuses on therapeutic interventions to promote emotional and behavioral growth, ensuring children and youth thrive in their placements.

**Key Responsibilities**

As a Child and Youth Care Worker, your role will include, but is not limited to:

- Advocating for and building trust with young people through interactive play, activities, and personal interactions.
- Maintaining a therapeutic approach to behaviour management and clearly communicating behavioural expectations and consequences.
- Intervening during crisis situations to support youth effectively.
- Providing counselling opportunities tailored to the individual needs of each young person.
- Teaching life skills such as daily chores, routines, and personal hygiene habits.
- Designing and implementing age-appropriate activities (e.g., recreation, crafts, music, special outings).
- Observing, assessing, and documenting youth behaviours and interactions.
- Supporting therapeutic foster parents in meeting the needs of children and youth in their care.
- Creating and revising individualized treatment plans and daily evaluations.

**Qualifications and Professional Experience**
- Diploma/Degree in Human Services (Child and Youth Care or Social Work preferred).
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with high-risk youth in foster care or out-of-home placements.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license.
- Knowledge and experience in First Nations culture are assets.
- Certification in Standard First Aid (Level C) and ASIST Suicide Prevention is an asset (training provided after commencement).
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
