This role is essential to inspire and influence the replenishment and Central Data Management (CDM) teams. Director will lead national Supply Chain Resource (SCR) personnel of selected key suppliers across all warehouses and CDM analysts. This includes building strong team and solid business relationships with both suppliers and customers and understand the most cost effective ways to manage inventory across the network. We work together, we win together - Leadership of replenishment and data management teams - Manage vendor in bound fill rate, customer fill rate, data accuracy & costing accuracy - Achieve "no sales” < 6 months sales inventory with Sales Teams - Lead total cost management reduction with emphasis on margin improvement & sku reductions. - Partner with segment leadership to reduce inventory with no sales in last 6 months: leadership team to lead the business to achieve sales, operations, and profitability and working capital budgets - Negotiate local vendor costing, terms and minimizing claim denials - Demonstrate remote leadership competency to motivate and engage remote employees via in person, phone, and technology methods - Maintain consistent presence within the business segment - Focus on delivering consistency for the replenishment and data management functions - Work in conjunction with Sales, Customer Service & Operations to achieve a high level of customer service - Travel within the segment branches/locations. Expected presence in market at least once per month - Participate in the development and implementation of business strategies to improve business - Review market trends for pricing opportunities to optimize revenues - Report on cost and raw material fluctuations from major indexes. - Interpret data into compelling insights and present to a variety of levels of leadership. - Present to executives and key clients when requested - Present in-depth analysis on price relationships between products on regular basis - Assist in development of new key insights by constructing reports which can be utilized throughout the organization - Maintain data integrity within the system by conducting vendor reviews to ensure accurate information is present - Supervise vendor price adjustments by uploading data within the system while maintaining accuracy - Manage team effectively and follow best practice in supply chain - Own and build succession plan for this role, work to train and share knowledge within 12 months - Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunities - Achieve annual cost improvement target of $3MM by optimizing business practice and implementing process improvement initiatives - Take category ownership and manage specifications, spend, vendor base and contracts for assigned categories - Prioritize and manage all strategic initiatives for the buying team; coordinate efforts and provide direction with support functions - Monitor performance of vendors against contract obligations and serve as a resource to resolve issues/problems - Manage vendor relationships and execute vendor performance management techniques in accordance with standards and guidelines - Monitor vendor market and identify opportunities resulting from new product offerings and/or market shifts (e.g., entry or exit of vendors, changes in pricing) - Engage Sales and Business stakeholders proactively to identify opportunities to improve cost savings ideas, provide market insights, and address vendor performance and process issues - Meet key suppliers, conduct facility visits to have clear understanding of operational efficiencies - Work closely with sales, customer service, warehouse staff and clients - Supporting internal staff with expert knowledge and services, and resolves any customer complaints or problems **Primary Evaluation Criteria** - **Sales target**: - **Profit and margin growth**: - **Saving target**: - **Performance reviews**: - **Employee satisfaction surveys**: - **Personal growth and development plans for employees**: - **Service Level** - Increased fill rate. - Increased receiver utilization and reduce wasted time - **Inventory** - Decreased the cost of working capital - Increased equipment utilization. - Buy the most cost effective ways **New careernew opportunities What are YOU waiting for?** Bunzl Canada Inc.
