- Specifically, the instructor will lead one course in writing and editing with the view of an editor’s desk in popular media (CMNS 351). They will also facilitate another course focused on the production of a prototype magazine that showcases their previously developed writing, editing and research skills (through their previous studies) in addition to their awareness of audience, tone, voice and appropriate content (CMNS 490).
- In the School of Communication, we pride ourselves on the balance we offer our students between practical communication skills and theoretical courses based on the theories of communication. Instructors who led many of our writing, editing and production of journalistic content courses have recently retired, creating this coveted opening in our School.**What you’ll bring**

**Required Qualification & Experience**
- Minimum 4 years experience working in media, journalism, communications or related industries
- Masters degree in Communications, Publishing, English or related field
- Notable teaching experience that includes the ability to foster a classroom environment that provides a supportive learning setting for students from diverse populations and circumstances
- Experience/knowledge of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion principles in an educational environment

**Preferred**
- PhD. in Communication or related discipline
- Five years of relevant professional experience in a field related to communication
- Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (PDIP), Certification in University Teaching, or Credential/Experience in online teaching or equivalent
