Park Lawn Preschool Inc. operates 3 not-for-profit child care centres located in the Park Lawn Road - The Queensway area in South Etobicoke. We have been proudly serving our community for over 45 years We are licensed to offer care for up to 444 children from Toddler up to School Age.

We offer a play-based, emergent curriculum where children are viewed as competent individuals with an exceptional pattern of interests, capabilities and aspirations by providing them a stimulating early learning and care experience that inspires their natural curiosity and energy.

**Positions**:

- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) - Part-Time B & A Split Shifts (5.5 hours per day and full days on non-instructional days and summer)

Multiple positions to be filled as soon as possible.

- Humber Bay Child Care Centre (50 Cloverhill Road)

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Following an Emergent/Inquiry based curriculum model, the incumbent will be required to plan and implement age-appropriate programs that stimulate and enrich children’s development for children ages 4 - 12 years of age.
- Document children's everyday learning and experiences.
- Work in accordance with the policies and guidelines set out in the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014, Toronto Public Health, and Toronto Children’s Services Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI).
- Support and maintain all aspects of children’s safety and well being.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with parents and families by utilizing a variety of communication tools (HiMama, daily conversations, children’s daily charts, etc.) while being sensitive to their culture and beliefs.
- Ensure records and documentation are accurate and up to date (attendances, cleaning schedules, accident reports, etc.)
- Attend and participate in centre/organization staff meetings and workshops

**Qualifications and Skills**
- RECE: Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree & member in good standing with the College of ECE
- Experience working with various age groups
- Experience working in a childcare/shared space in-school setting, an asset
- Training and/or experience with children who have special needs, an asset
- Knowledge of CCEYA, 2014, Early Learning Framework, How Does Learning Happen? and Emergent/Inquiry-based program, an asset.
- Experience with the Toronto Children's Services Early Learning and Care Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI), an asset
- Experience with HiMama, an asset.
- Well-developed problem-solving, conflict resolution skills and good judgement
- Self-directed with proven commitment to contribute to the team
- Up-to-date Health assessment, including immunizations
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR Level C Certificate
- Current Police Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening

**Hours of Operations**:
7:00 am - 6:00 pm, Monday - Friday.

**Rate of Pay**:
RECE - starting at $22.39/hour

**Plus** Split Shift Premium: $2.00/hour for employees scheduled to work a split shift on instructional days.

**Plus** PWE: $2.00/hour for eligible employees holding eligible positions.
