**Overview**
We are seeking an experienced **Financial** **Controller/Bookkeeper**to join our Team. As a Controller/Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for overseeing financial activities of the company and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This key role requires strong analytical skills, attention to details and the ability to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders
**Skills and Qualifications**
- University or College degree in Finance or Accounting, B. Comm or related field. CPA or designation is an asset
- Thorough knowledge of financial and accounting practices and procedures
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and Accounting software packages; Quickbooks, BillQuick or Ajera, BQE Core
- Minimum 5-10 years of high-level accounting experience
- Accounting experience in an architectural office an asset
**Responsibilities**
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.
- Supervise and participate in data entry using various accounting software programs.
- Maintain, monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts monthly.
- Prepare semi-monthly payroll and be responsible for all payroll related matters.
- Process bank deposits.
- Process and pay, on a timely basis, all accounts payable.
- Prepare timely and accurate journal entries as required in completing the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process.
- Prepare and file government tax remittances including HST, EHT, WSIB and source deductions and corporate tax.
- Prepare yearly financial statements and liaise with CA firm regarding corporate tax.
