**Produce Clerk**

Summerhill Market is a boutique grocery store chain in Toronto that specializes in scratch-made prepared foods and on-trend ingredients. Our stores go above and beyond a typical grocery store by offering an extensive rotating selection of ready to eat gourmet meals, freshly baked goodies, and curated hard to find groceries. Summerhill Market is an industry trend setter, and we are looking for individuals who are passionate about food.

We are searching for a **Produce Clerk** to merchandise produce on store shelves while maintaining the highest level of customer service.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:
As a member of the Summerhill Market team, you will conduct yourself with integrity and are committed to providing the best possible service to Summerhill’s customers, staff and clients. The responsibilities of the Produce Clerk include but are not limited to:

- Transporting goods from the basement produce area to the main floor
- Stocking of shelves
- Providing customer service by assisting customers in locating items as well as educating customers on products
- Assisting in the loading and unloading of orders into and out of the main produce cooler
- Cleaning and maintaining the main floor and basement produce areas as needed or requested
- Supporting the Produce and Assistant Produce Managers with ordering, inventory and wastage monitoring
- Merchandising of all tables, merchandisers and product displays
- Reporting any issues with regards to stock levels, produce quality or customer issues to your supervisor
- Maintaining Health and Safety Standards as defined under the Health and Safety Act
- Additional duties as required

**Skillset Requirements**:

- 2 years+ experience of produce experience working within the food, beverage, hospitality or grocery retail industry with produce knowledge is required
- Food Safety Handlers Certification is required
- Completion of a high school diploma or the equivalent is an asset
- Proficient in MS Office with the ability to learn new systems (ERP, CRM, ordering tools, etc.)
- Highly organized, creative and innovative with the ability to meet merchandizing standards
- Quality driven with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills (verbally and written) with a customer focused mindset and the ability to convey direction in a clear and concise manner
- Collaborative with the ability to work in a dynamic team to create solutions in support of store operations
- Able to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 20-44 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Toronto, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Produce: 1 year (preferred)
- Grocery Store: 1 year (preferred)
