EcoSafe Natural Products Inc. is a growing and innovative developer of agrochemical, cosmetic and consumer products based on natural, safe alternatives to hard synthetic chemicals. We offer our customers superior quality products, which we develop and test in-house through our broad scientific knowledge and expertise. We are constantly expanding and developing our product lines and testing services to fit new markets as opportunities arise.

Location and Facilities

Our laboratory and offices are located in Saanichton, B.C., Canada. The building is 4,100 square feet housing 5 laboratories, offices and pilot plant. The labs are equipped with various hi-tech instrumentation for analysis, testing and formulation development including GC (MS and FID), HPLC, Flash Chromatography, Karl Fisher moisture apparatus, Flash point, spray dryer, granulators etc.

Business Services

We do scientific research and development of third-party products for clients on a contractual basis, from first line of production through until registration. Products developed include natural pesticides, fertilizers, neutriceuticals and cosmetics. Services offered to our clients include formulation development and testing, insect toxicity and efficacy testing, herbicide/pesticide deposition testing, analysis of chemical and physical properties, full and accelerated storage stability testing and product package testing. We are equipped to research and produce all of the major product types and several specialty formulations, with equipment for preparation of liquid, powdered, granular formulations and aerosols. Our chemical analysis capabilities allow for qualitative and quantitative analysis as well as chemical structure verification.

This position will require relocation to Vancouver Island, B.C., Canada. Applicants selected to move forward in the hiring process will be assessed for lab-based competencies. Applicants unable to commute to EcoSafe Natural Products Inc. for lab-based assessment should not apply.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- A post-secondary degree in analytical chemistry, chemistry, entomology, biochemistry or biology and minimum 1-3 years of related experience.

RELATED EXPERIENCE SHOUD INCLUDE
- Project management experience
- Experience operating lab bench scale equipment such as pipettes, pH meters and top-loading balances is required
- Understanding of lab safety requirements and handling of chemicals
- Sample preparation procedures for chemical analysis of various products including dilutions, derivatization, sieving, drying and solvent extraction
- Ability to prioritize and manage workload in a fast-paced work environment, while ensuring delivery of high-quality work and meeting timelines

PREFERENCE MAY BE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WITH
- Proficiency in technical writing (SOPS, SDSs, reports, reviews, grants)
- Knowledge of formulation development steps and procedures
- Experience operating GC (MS and FID) and HPLC instrumentation, such as method development, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair
- Experience with insect husbandry or working in an insectary
- Knowledge of regulatory affairs and guidelines for Canadian, American and European submissions in support of the registration of pesticides is an asset
- Knowledge of GLP is an asset
