**Position Details**: We are seeking an experienced front line worker to join our resilient and dedicated housing support team.This position is being filled as a three month term positions, with the possibility of extension. Reporting to the Executive Director of Homelessness and Supportive Programs, the Housing Support Worker is part of a team that believes everyone in Colchester County deserves safe, affordable housing and the supports they need to be successful in life.

**Qualifications and Experience**: An undergraduate degree in Social Work, diploma in Human Services or combination of experience and education related to working with people who experience homeless, living in poverty or those who face mental health or addiction challenges. Experience in case management, delivery of direct support services, and the issues of homelessness required. Demonstrated high level of understanding in a housing first model and approach. Demonstrated skill using anti-oppressive practices (harm reduction, a client-directed approach, and a social justice perspective). Strong advocacy skills and the ability to work collaboratively with community partners. Excellent administrative, time management, communication, and organizational skills. Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment. Computer literacy is imperative, familiarity with HIFIS (Homeless Individuals and Families Information Systems) and SPDAT considered an asset. Must have First Aid/CPR, ASIST and MANDT training or willingness to obtain. Successful applicants will be required to provide a criminal record check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) and proof of adequate motor vehicle insurance at their own cost.

**Essential Duties of Position**: Responsible for direct service delivery to clients who are currently facing eviction, sleeping rough or insecurely housed in our community: case management, home visits, advocacy. Housing support tasks include assisting clients to find and secure suitable housing and ongoing eviction prevention. Liaise and develop relationships with landlords and property managers. Responsible for developing and maintaining partnerships with external program partners including Department of Community Services, Cobequid Housing, and other stakeholders. Responsible for achieving goals/objectives/outcomes and reporting on results in relation to work plans in an accurate and timely manner. Ensuring that participant information records are properly maintained and kept confidential.
