Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate
- Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
**Work setting**:

- Remote location

**Tasks**:

- Assist in performing routine maintenance work and repair to ship's engine, machinery and auxiliary equipment
- Clean, chip and paint deck surfaces
- Handle mooring lines, and splice and repair ropes, wire cables and cordage
- Rig and hoist equipment
- Plan load for aircraft
- Patrol assigned areas
- Assemble, erect and install hoisting and rigging equipment

- First Aid Certificate
- Transport Canada Bridge Watchman Certificate
- Transport Canada Security Awareness Training for All Seafarers
- Transport Canada passenger safety management¿(PSM) course
- Marine Emergency Duties Certificate
