**About Loyalist Township**
**Loyalist Township **is a lower-tier township municipality in southeastern Ontario, Canada on Lake
Ontario, in Lennox and Addington County. It was named for the United Empire Loyalists, who settled in
the area after the American Revolution. The Township was formed on January 1, 1998, through the
amalgamation of Amherst Island Township, Ernestown Township, and the Village of Bath.
Loyalist Township is a growing community of 18,000+ people situated on the north shore of Lake Ontario
between the Town of Greater Napanee and the City of Kingston.
The Township is a blend of rural and urban areas with a number of smaller hamlets throughout, including
an island community, accessible by ferry.
The Township is seeking a dynamic CAO with a proven record of accomplishment in achieving
administrative, financial, and strategic planning excellence. If you have excellent facilitation, mediation and
negotiations skills and have a clear commitment to delivering exceptional service and best practices in
public administration and possess a high degree of professionalism and integrity, coupled with flexibility,
tact, courtesy, and effective communication skills (written, verbal, presentation and listening), then this is a
perfect opportunity to affect change in a growing community, rich in Canadian history.
Additionally, you possess University degree in Public or Business Administration (an equivalent mix of
education and experience may also be considered). You have at least 10 years’ experience in a senior
management role, preferably in a unionized municipal setting and demonstrated leadership experience
working with Council and overseeing a team of senior managers and professionals. You have demonstrated
experience working with elected officials and dealing with multiple layers of Government.
