**Summary**:
Area Coverage Attendants are responsible for ensuring the safety of our members while exercising in the
following rooms: cardio area, general fieldhouse (track, basketball courts, etc.,), and the weight room. They are
also responsible for checking equipment to ensure it is in good working condition and answering/interacting
with members or clients. The Attendant role is also responsible for monitoring members to ensure Variety
policies and protocols are being followed.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Overseeing the safety of members using the cardio area, fieldhouse or weight room.
- Ensuring the appropriate use of equipment to minimize potential injury to members.
- Providing excellent customer service to members, answers to inquiries and general questions.
- Ensuring accessibility by assisting members with special needs with equipment use.
- Attending In-Service training sessions throughout the year on a seasonal basis;
- Completing paperwork and submitting incident reports on an as needed basis;
- Participating in Plan to Protect and adherence to Variety’s established policies and procedures.
- Other related duties as assigned.

**Qualifications and Key Competencies**:

- Minimum age of 5 years old.
- A valid certification in Standard First Aid - CPR C, AED and Airway management is an asset.
- Experience and/or education in recreation, sports, physical education or education an asset.
- Strong problem solving and communication skills.
- Ability to complete tasks as delegated, complete administrative duties, and strong organization skills.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision.
