Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Specialist to join our team. As a Behavioral Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to individuals with behavioral challenges. Your expertise will contribute to creating a positive and nurturing environment for our clients.

**Responsibilities**:

- Implement behavior intervention plans developed by the clinical team
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with behavioral challenges
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans
- Conduct behavioral assessments and collect data on client progress
- Collaborate with other members of the treatment team to ensure consistent and effective care
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor their effectiveness
- Teach coping skills and strategies to clients and their families
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of client interactions and progress

**Experience**:

- Previous experience working with children and youth with behavioral challenges is preferred
- Knowledge of special education principles and practices
- Familiarity with terminology related to behavioral health
- Proficient in data collection methods and analysis

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in psychology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Certification in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations
- Patience, empathy, and understanding

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $17.65-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 25 per week

- Halifax, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
