**Northstar Frontier Services provides remote site services; catering, housekeeping and management to remote work camps for construction, railroad, and mining projects in Canada and the United States.**

Base rate: $17.75/hour plus daily overtime

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 1 year of remote camp/commercial cooking and baking experience
- Current Safe Food Handler's certificate
- Willing to travel and work in remote areas for extended periods
- Criminal background check is conducted and paid by the employer as a condition of employment.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Prepare high-quality meals according to menu specifications, crew size, and menu plan while following the Food Safety Guidelines
- Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, safety and conduct
- Proper food storage, rotation, and discarding of expired foods using HACCP and FIFO guidelines
- Unload, load and stock groceries and supplies
- Maintain professional personal hygiene at all times
- Assist with completing required reports and documents
- Assist with recording and maintaining inventory levels
- Report any repairs/maintenance issues (such as leaky faucets or toilets, loose tiles, broken window panes, missing nuts or screws, repairs/replacement of furniture or equipment) to the 1st Cook or Camp Attendant

**Working Conditions**
- Must be able to move continuously (lift, carry, sit, push, pull, stretch, walk, bend) during work hours and able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
- Must be available and willing to work a minimum of 12 hrs/shift (split shift may be necessary depending on circumstance)
- May require working in damp, dusty and dirty areas.
- Will be required to sleep on board the train during work cycles and may encounter noise during sleep hours
- May be required to carry loads up and down stairs/ladders on a consistent basis
- Will be exposed to various outdoor weather conditions such as heat, cold, insects etc....
