Do you enjoy cleaning and take pride in your work? If so, WBF is looking for a motivated casual employee to help with various cleaning/custodial responsibilities at the WBF Training Centre and Housing. This will include all general housekeeping duties and deep cleaning of suites and restocking of inventory in suites. The goal is to keep our building in a clean and orderly condition. This is a part-time, casual position, where hours could fluctuate. Approximately 4-8 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform housekeeping duties including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning the windows, bathrooms, managing laundry, and keeping the place neat and tidy
- Support as needed with housekeeping and maintenance for WBF Training Centre and grounds, as per existing safety standards and processes
- Ensure all maintenance/cleaning requests, enquires and concerns are responded to in a prompt and courteous manner
- Performs cleaning functions specific to the assigned facilities and/or based on seasonal/project requirements
- Considerable physical activity required
Skills & Abilities
- Organizational skills to keep rooms and storage closets clean and organized
- Communication skills to take direction and work alongside Facility Coordinator or independently
- Attention to detail to perform a thorough job
- Adaptability and flexibility to focus on whatever task is most important at any given time
- Ability to complete physically demanding tasks
- Integrity, reliability, and trustworthiness to be left to work independently
- Good communicator - primarily verbal
- Have a positive and friendly demeanor
- Display a strong work ethic
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures
- Janitorial skills
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision while paying close attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Knowledge of potential safety hazards and relevant safety procedures
- Physically fit; able to bend, lift, kneel, crouch, climb, and crawl, etc. to access items in need of custodial attention
- Alignment with WBF’s values and culture, including a commitment to continuous learning, and creating safe, inclusive workplaces with respect for all employees, applicants, students and stakeholders
Education & Experience
Janitorial experience and maintenance
