As our Manager, People & Culture, you will build trusted relationships with all team members and serve on the Management Team. You will be responsible for all HR functions from recruitment to retention to engagement, and will proactively seek out best in class HR practices with which to differentiate Nucleus from our competition. As a remote-first company, experience building and enhancing culture in a distributed workplace is extremely important to us.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure all our people practices, policies and programs ‘A-Z’ are best in class; build or enhance as required
- Leverage HRIS for maximum benefit; train hiring managers on current HRIS’ recruitment and performance management modules
- Coach employees and managers through complex situations
- Drive compensation and performance review cycles, participate in salary surveys, advise on market conditions and adjustments as required to remain competitive
- Take lead on annual benefits renewal conversations with carriers; understand how to extract all possible value for dollars spent; stay on leading edge of new and interesting product offerings
- Foster and grow an award-winning culture by challenging the status quo and continually looking for ways to improve the workplace
- Manage eNPS activities and maximize employee engagement

**Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities**:

- 5+ years in an established, best practices HR department, at least 2+ years as a sole practitioner leading the Human Resources function within a business
- Thorough understanding of ESA in BC, Ontario and Alberta, bonus points for Quebec
- Diploma or degree in Human Resources, HR designation such as CPHR or other
- Comfort with technology, mastery of HRIS such as BambooHR or similar HRIS platforms
- Experience with Payroll systems such as Rise Payroll
- Experience with Performance Management systems such as Lattice
- Background in a high tech or other talent-intensive industry preferred
- Demonstration of a highly self-directed and entrepreneurial mindset
- Experience with acquisitions from the HR perspective, a definite bonus
- Experience managing a distributed/remote team
