Reporting to the Senior Manager Procurement to Pay (P2P) & Enablement, the Manager leads and oversees a team under Procurement Strategies and Capabilities in Canada ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. Performance objectives include guidance and instruction to Sr. Analyst, Analyst and/or Jr. Analyst team members as well as achieving resolution time objectives that are performed in accordance with Scotiabank values and guiding principles and in adherence to the Scotiabank Code of Conduct. **Accountabilities**: - Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. - Applies knowledge of procurement best practice and general business practice to lead their team in the triage of goods and services and supplier enablement intake requests. - Enables their team to operate the Bank’s procurement technology solutions for conducting CRA, Supplier/Contract Master Data Management, P2P, TPRM, etc. - Leads their team on interactions with suppliers for P2P platform onboarding, catalog set-up & maintenance, training and initial purchase order issuance - Leads and conducts reporting activities to monitor COUPA (SmartBuy) performance and compliance including but not limited to Spend to contract, invoice timely payment and purchasing best practices. - Identifies insights, issues, and presents reports that monitors Procurement Policy compliance and operational KPIs - Sets goals, objectives, KPIs, and assigns work to direct reports while providing them with guidance, coaching, and mentoring to execute on their development plans - Establishes Operating Level Agreements (OLAs) and prepares, reviews, uses, enforces Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documentation to ensure data quality and consistent delivery of service by their team - Seeks agreeable and timely resolution to issues escalated to them by their team, suppliers, or other internal/external stakeholders - Accountable for activities related to data governance and proposes new processes for system and exception handling. - Applies strategic thinking for problem resolution and process improvement - Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. - Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. - Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team. **Education and Experience**: - College Diploma or University Degree in related field - 4+ years of project management, business administration, business analysis, data analyst, business process improvement, operations lead experience related to procurement - Experienced in Coupa and Procurement/SRM platform (certification is preferred but not required) - Thorough computer skills (MS Office: Excel, Word, Visio, Project) - Occasional weekends/off-hours work is required to manage cutover/maintenance release activities. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish is an asset.
