**Excavator Operator - Remediation**

QM’s four business lines include Demolition and Decommissioning, Hazardous Materials Abatement, Environmental Remediation including Civil Earthworks, and Emergency Management & Environmental Response Services.

We have an exciting IMMEDIATE opportunity for an Excavator operator with long reach experience.

Location: Barrie, ON.

As an Excavator Operator with QM Environmental you will be operating excavators on a specific sites in a safe manner. Projects include demolition and reclamation sites, including the removal of contaminated soils, construction of landfills, and building demolition.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Follow all QMLP safety procedures and policies.
- Ensure safety and security of cargo
- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, etc.
- Report any required or preventative maintenance to supervisor/shop foreman
- Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, carriage of goods, driver’s hours, occupational health and safety
- Drive excavator in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life
- Clean excavators as scheduled and/or required
- Participate in routine maintenance
- Ability to read and write to keep daily records

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Experience**:

- Valid Class 5 Drivers license
- Clean Drivers Abstract
- Minimum of 2 years of excavator experience
- Minimum of 1 year of excavator experience with long reach

**Abilities**:

- Able to work long hours, overtime and possible weekend work in various weather conditions.
- Be fit for work every day

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**:
Work is on the project site. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required for all site work.
