We empower seniors, especially those living with dementia, to make choices that enhance their quality of life. **Position Overview**: Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Clerk processes payroll transactions, corrects system errors, and supports timekeepers, using intermediate computer skills. Responsibilities include handling adjustments, reimbursements, and employment records, in line with established policies. **Our Commitment**: We are guided by our Mission, Vision, Values, and Ethical Framework, and strive to provide compassionate, respectful, and excellent care to all we serve. **What You Will Do**: **Key Responsibilities**: - Process and verify payroll data, including adjustments, accruals, manual payments, and cancelled transactions. - Support new employee setup, benefits enrollment, and employment changes in payroll systems. - Generate payroll reports and troubleshoot issues through Payroll Provider queries. - Calculate off-cycle payments, severance, terminations, and retroactive payments. - Reconcile payroll-related accounts and resolve discrepancies (e.g., Receiver General, WCB, benefits, pensions). - Manage employee benefit deductions, garnishments, union dues, pension contributions, and HBT reporting. - Administer WorkSafe BC claims, top-up payments, and related reporting. - Maintain and distribute pay statements, T4s, Records of Employment, and ensure secure handling of payroll documents. - Communicate payroll information to employees, timekeepers, and external agencies. - Ensure compliance with union agreements and update rates in collaboration with Human Resources. - Promote a culture of safety by adhering to all organizational risk management and safety policies. - Performs other related duties as assigned. **What You Bring**: **QUALIFICATIONS**: - Education, Training and Experience Grade 12. - Completed Canadian Payroll Association certification for Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP). - Three (3) years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. **SKILLS AND ABILITIES**: - Working knowledge of computerized payroll systems - Ability to organize work. - Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. - Ability to deal with others effectively. - Ability to operate related equipment. - Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position. **What We Offer**: - **A competitive Salary**: $29.83 Per hour - **Benefits**: Comprehensive health, dental, and pension packages. - **A Supportive and Inclusive Workplace**:Providence Living is committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for all staff members.
