**The Opportunity**

As the Mobile Crisis Worker, you will be responsible to support the settlement needs of at-risk and vulnerable clients who may require urgent and/or specific settlement support related to their emotional, mental, and physical wellbeing.

**Responsibilities**
- Problem-solving facilitation that are culturally sensitive and nonjudgmental
- Support the building of protective factors through involvement in existing programing
- Provides information to clients in crisis situations to support informed decision making
- Assisting and advocating for clients to access required supports
- Identifying short
- and long-term goals to address crisis
- Developing strategies and action plans involving community, family, and other identified support networks
- Providing referrals and follow up
- Completing related program paperwork and case management

**Qualifications & Skills**
- Sound working knowledge of community resources and government legislation as it pertains to resources and client services or Robust knowledge of relevant community organizations, agencies, and government services
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Knowledge of the settlement sector and issues impacting newcomers to Nova Scotia
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - Multi-lingual
- (Arabic, Somali, Kiswahili or other would be considered an asset)
- High level of initiative and ability needed to work independently and as a member of a team and respond to unanticipated situations
- Demonstrated discretion and sound judgement in the handling of confidential information
- Strong background in child protection protocols
- Counseling skills and/or experience and/or education would be an asset
- Non-violent Crisis Intervention, Suicide Intervention Training and Mental Health First Aid an asset
- Microsoft 365 Office skills
- Ability to work flexible hours
