Responsibilities:

- Plan and organize shipping and receiving of goods, ensuring deadlines are met
- Determine method of shipment and arrange shipping; accurately prepare bills of lading, customs forms, invoices and other shipping documents manually or by computer
- Operate forklift, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods
- Provide samples of incoming products to the Customer Service department
- Unpack, document, verify counts against packing slips and route received goods to appropriate storage areas
- Record shortages and reject damaged goods
- Photograph damaged goods and report to supervisor
- Store product in an organized manner - to be able to easily locate any items in storage
- Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices, way bills or other documents
- Keep informed of job status, monitoring workflow schedule as it affects shipping/receiving, communicating with Customer Services and Production Manager
- Provide product to Inserting and Fulfillment Clerk for processing
- Understand the importance of quality and follow all Quality Control procedures
- Assemble containers and crates
- Wrap, band or pack product for shipping as per docket instructions
- Keep workplace tidy and traffic areas clear; ensure skids are stacked
- Empty recycling/garbage and prepare cardboard boxes for recycling
- Record contents manually or in computer system, pack goods to be shipped and affix identifying information and shipping instructions

Expectations:

- Secondary School Diploma or equivalent hands on experience in a production environment required
- Experience in a related clerical occupation
- **MUST HAVE: Forklift certificate required - Tow Motor License**:

- Clamp experience an asset.
- Be flexible with regards to extra shifts and possible short term changes to accommodate client demands and staff vacations and absences
- Must be detail oriented to accurately complete required documentation
- Must be able to prioritize work efficiently and multi-task at a demanding pace in a deadline-sensitive environment
- Must be able to think ahead, trouble shoot and follow a job through to successful completion
- Physically demanding, walking, bending, heavy lifting
