The Parts Manager Assistant works closely with the Parts Manager to meet department goals, maintain accurate inventory, and provide timely support to both internal and external customers. They also contribute to fostering positive relationships with suppliers, service staff, and customers, while upholding the dealership’s standards and values.

**The Details**

**Assist in Parts Department Operations**
- Support the ordering and receiving of parts, tools, and supplies as directed by the Parts Manager.
- Help maintain inventory accuracy by assisting with stock counts, returns, and adjustments.
- Monitor stock levels and inform the Parts Manager of low or obsolete items.
- Assist in merchandising, pricing, and displaying parts for maximum sales impact.
- Support the preparation of departmental reports and documentation.
- Assist in managing special orders and ensure timely communication with customers and technicians.

**Customer Service & Internal Support**
- Greet and assist customers and technicians at the parts counter in a professional, friendly manner.
- Provide accurate parts information, including availability, pricing, and compatibility.
- Help resolve customer concerns or escalate issues to the Parts Manager when required.
- Ensure timely delivery of parts to service bays for repair orders.

**Collaboration & Teamwork**
- Work closely with the Service Department to ensure smooth parts flow for repairs.
- Support positive teamwork with other dealership departments.
- Maintain good working relationships with manufacturers and suppliers.
- Participate in department meetings as requested.

**Commitment to Dealership Standards**
- Adhere to dealership policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Maintain a professional appearance and clean work area.
- Stay informed about new products, updates, and manufacturer promotions.
- Complete any assigned training as required by the dealership or manufacturer.

**Industry Knowledge & Compliance**
- Stay updated on competitive products, pricing, and features.
- Understand and comply with federal, provincial, and local regulations related to parts sales.
- Assist with documentation for “Transportation of Dangerous Goods” compliance as required.

**Specific Skills**
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts and basic technical/mechanical concepts.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using dealer management systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Attention to detail with ability to document accurately.
- Ability to work in a team environment and support common goals.

**Education & Experience**
- Experience in an automotive parts department or similar environment preferred.
- Basic understanding of inventory control and ordering processes.
- Previous dealership experience is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license for the province of employment.
