**You will be responsible for**:
Providing one on one care in clients home ranging from one to eight hours a day

Must have a reliable source of transportation to get from client to client.

**Days, Afternoon, Evening, and Overnight Shifts**

Personal Care is a service that is provided to any person in their home or identified home setting that meets the supportive, physical, and psycho-social needs of that person. Personal care is provided by an appropriately trained Personal Support Worker (PSW). PSWs (Personal Support Worker) provide care to any person who requires personal assistance with activities of daily living (ADL). They may also provide additional care as delegated by a Regulated Healthcare Professional as needed, and when it can be performed safely and within Provincial legislation. PSWs provides personal care and initiate tasks based on an established plan of care which can include housekeeping, meal preparation, socialization, companionship, and any other related paraprofessional services.

The scope of the PSW is constantly changing to accommodate the needs of the vulnerable population requiring care in the community setting.

**Responsibilities**:
**PSWs must**:

- Document and report unsafe conditions, or apparent changes to medical condition including but not limited to behavioral, physical and/or cognitive changes to their appropriate supervisor.
- Communicate and demonstrate information in accordance with pre-established Plan of Care which includes daily living, light housekeeping, meal planning and/or preparation.
- Complete and maintain related records such as communication books and progress notes.
- Assist person(s) with activities of daily living which could include feeding, lifts and transfers using approved method of transfer, bathing, skin care, oral hygiene, and toileting.
- Assist with dispensing of medication or medication reminders in accordance with the established employer or government policy.
- Perform light housekeeping duties which include sweeping, mopping floors, vacuuming, washing dishes, assisting in completion of laundry, and any other tasks or duties as assigned in accordance with the pre-established plan of care.

**Requirements**:
Personal Support Worker Certification OR International Nursing Degree

Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check, obtained within the last 6 months.

Valid CPR

Any other supporting documentation as requested.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3 - 40 per week
