:Job Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

- Machine parts within specifications
- Operates boring machine to machine internal surfaces of cylinders in engine block.
- Cleans parts, before and after machining
- Verifies dimensions, using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges to ensure adherence to tolerance specifications.
- Operates lathe, boring, or honing machine to refinish internal surfaces of bearings and connecting rods.
- Rotor and Drum Re-surfacing
- Cylinder Head Resurfacing & Re-building
- Flywheel Re-surfacing
- Press Bearings
- Clean and maintain equipment
- Write in labor operation codes and cost on shop cards
- Answer customer questions (in person and by phone); assist them with heavy objects
- Pickup and deliver engines and parts as needed
- Keep shop organized and clean

Skills, experience and abilities needed (but not limited to):

- Reading micrometers
- Using manuals and computers to look up specs.
- Possess knowledge of auto parts and processes (prior experience in a related field)
- Skill with machining tools
- Knowledge of operation and safety of equipment in the shop
- Able to work continuously on feet
- Lift, carry, move parts and equipment weighing up to 75 lbs.; able to bend low and reach high

Experience and knowledge in using the following equipment required:

- Chain hoists
- Two wheel carts
- Phones
- Micrometers/slide calipers
- Hand tools
- Air tools
- Machine tools
