- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements and provide legal advice on a wide range of legal matters including data protection, privacy and employment law.
- Provide advice in respect of insurance laws and regulations, including licensing matters, product development and reinsurance.
- Assist the business in responding to Federal/ Provincial regulatory consultations and data calls and also assist with the business implementation of new regulatory requirements.
- Proactively identifying key legal/ regulatory risks and provide related training and support to the business.
- Develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Federal and Provincial regulators.
- Participate in various committees and working groups of insurance industry associations.

**Job Qualifications**

**What you bring to the table**:
**Required**:

- LL.B/Juris Doctor and a member in good standing with a Canadian Professional Law Society.
- 10 or more years of experience in the Legal area.
- Strong corporate/commercial background together with insurance law and regulation experience in Canada.
- Ability to manage multiple transactions and legal matters simultaneously and independently prioritize work.
- A self-starter, with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

**Preferred**:

- Insurance Industry experience
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- French language skills would be considered an asset.
