**Position Summary**:
Cleaning, janitorial, and laundry duties in resident units, common areas, and premises.

**Experience/Qualifications**:
1. Must have previous experience in Retirement/ Hotel setting

2. Eco-green cleaning experience

3. Basic telephone skills

4. Basic security procedures.

5. Calm and organized manner

6. This job requires adaptability and flexibility to meet operational needs

**Education**:
1. Must be able to read, write and comfortably communicate in English.

2. Must successfully complete any pre-employment testing when required.

3. Completion of Building Services Worker Program as desired.

4. Successful completion of recognized WHMIS program

**Personal Characteristics**:
1. A passion for providing excellent customer service.

2. Empathy for and understanding of the needs of seniors, their families and professional service providers.

3. Must be able to anticipate problems and use sound judgment and tact in handling resident matters, day-to-day community operations requiring good customer service skills.

4. Friendly, thoughtful, patient and compassionate when dealing with seniors.

5. Must be able to perform physical work, i.e. lifting, bending etc.

6. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

7. Must have a professional, welcoming, and positive attitudes.

**Responsibilities and duties**:
1. Follows cleaning schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) as outlined for housekeeping department.

2. Cleans assigned areas, furnishings, fixtures according to established housekeeping procedures.

3. Cleans floors, dry mops, wet mops, sweeps, disinfects where and when necessary. Performs emergency housekeeping when accidents occur.

4. Cleans movable and stationary furnishings and fixtures, dusts, spot cleans or washes, disinfects, when necessary, polishes where required, changes slipcovers, scarves, doilies, etc. when soiled. Cleans ledges, shelves, vents, etc.

5. Empties, cleans, and relines waste baskets. Straightens or rearranges furniture as directed. Inspects furnishings for wear and defects and reports to supervisor.

6. Cleans bathrooms (resident, private, public and staff). Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors and walls as directed. Washes windows and mirrors. Replenishes bathroom supplies.

7. Spot cleans between washings, washes, disinfects when necessary. Walls and ceilings and ceiling fixtures are cleaned as scheduled.

8. Cleans all horizontal surfaces daily or as required, removing dust, dirt or greasy film using disinfectants where necessary.

9. Performs cleaning duties according to established procedures in resident rooms when resident has been discharged. Prepares suite for new occupant.

10. Removes garbage and disposes of same.

11. Any other duties as assigned by Management.

12. Performs full-service laundry duties, must be able to use industrial washers/dryers.

**Others**:
1. Must be free from communicable diseases.

2. Criminal Record check - pre-employment.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: From $17.85 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Every Weekend
- Night shift
