**Summary**

We are seeking an **Estimator** to join our Ottawa Team at Bachly Construction. This position is Monday-Friday from 7:30am-4:00pm and requires participation in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours emergency restoration services.

**Responsibilities**
- Respond to residential emergency insurance losses (fires, flood, wind damage, etc)
- Develop and design scope for all new insurance claims up to $300,000 in value
- Ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency
- Establish effective onsite communications and progress reporting with sub-trades and clients
- Prepare and maintain timely and accurate documentation and reports using Xactimate, Docusketch, and Encircle
- Read, interpret, and understand construction drawings and specifications
- Proactive in response to all Insured/Client inquiries, concerns or complaints and resolve any issues as soon as possible
- Confirm insurance deductibles and obtain payment prior to starting repairs, schedule & request progress draws for large projects from clients as required from management
- Accurate and timely preparation of estimate and scope of repairs
- Budgeting/scheduling
- Ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergency services
- Other duties as requested by the Senior Estimator/ General Manager

**Qualifications**
- 3-5 years of similar work experience within the Restoration/Insurance industry
- IICRC certifications are considered an asset
- Proficiency with Xactimate, PSA, and Encircle
- College or University degree in Construction Engineering Technology or Construction Management
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to personal transportation
- Ability to work effectively and accurately in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as a team
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail

**Requirements**:

- Basic security clearance (clear criminal record check)
- Availability Monday - Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
- Participation in rotating on-call schedule for after hours Emergency Restoration Services
- Attending and actively participating in on-going training and safety certifications as needed and to make every effort to attempt to pass any exams that may be required
