**Title**: Research Assistant - Student Co-Op
**Salary**: $19.87 - $26.75 - $29.43 per hour (pay range explained below)
**Contract**: Term role - September to March 31, 2026
**Hours**: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri)
**Location**: Metro Vancouver Office, located on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil
- Waututh Nations - Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA’s flex work policy.

**About the role**
As a Research Assistant, you’ll help support innovative harm reduction initiatives rooted in lived experience, cultural strength, and collective wisdom. Joining in RKE and FNHA is part of a broader effort to transform the research environment by fostering respectful collaboration and advancing strengths-based, Indigenist approaches to public health. As the Research Assistant, you will be responsible for:

- Supporting research data collection, management, analysis, and reporting
- Supporting project management and administrative activities
- Supporting community engagement activities alongside with study team members
- Supporting community research capacity building and community-based initiatives
- Contributing to knowledge exchange & mobilization, such as literature review, knowledge gathering, development and dissemination of research summary, infographics, presentations, or journal articles.

**About you**
To be successful in this role you will have/be
- **Education**
- A student in a health-related field, e.g., public health, health science, social science, psychology, health policy, etc.

**Knowledge, Skills and Experience**
- Knowledge of/experience in Indigenous health and community engagement
- Experience/skills in data analysis using NVivo, R or other statistical software
- Strong communication skills and teamwork ability
- Indigenous student will receive prioritized consideration

The Pay Range is Explained: Bachelor's Year 1 & 2: $19.87/hr, Bachelor's Year 3: $21.11/hr, Bachelor's Year 4: $22.35/hr, Master's Year 1: $24.82/hr, Master's Year 2: $26.98/hr, Graduated Master's: $29.43/hr (experience related to field of study will also be considered when assessing salary placement)
Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.
The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level. Internal employee compensation will be determined as per the FNHA Employee Total Compensation Policy.
